Fair play to everyone out there tonight, it started to rain just as the EL lads took to the field and was still raining when we left the Greyhound four hours later.
We batted first and amassed 156 - 6 off of our 14 overs.
Simmo opened up things and notched his highest night score of the season, 2. Thankfully the proper batters then set about the EL bowlers debut boys Pete Roberts, 58 and Ali Love with 24 layed the foundations. Nealy 23, Lanky 21 and Smithy on an upper with 19. With Ed ES 1NO and Treacle 0NO at the end it was over to Simmo again to pack the kit.
Highlight of the innings, 29 spanked off one over by Pete.
Superstars Robby Dunn and Flash, not to mention myself didn't even get our pads on.
With it still lashing it down our bowlers were superb, Smithy 3-24-0, Rob 4 -24-1, Treacle 4-36-1 and Lanky 3-28-2. If the bowlers were good the fielding was even better, well done lads you followed my example, not a ball went passed anyone.
For the EL viewers, the big Ginger lad slogged his way to 53 and the keeper reached 38, but we always had a few too many runs in the bank to be in any danger.
Lanky finished with two wickets in two balls, which means first ball at Hathern next week we will have 5 slips, gully, 2 short legs and silly mid off, you better bowl it straight !
