During the winter, the Senior
League registered with the ECB 'play-cricket' network.
This has allowed
us to register our own ECB/BOTWCC
Club Site with the league, within
the same network. See Right----------->
So what does this mean? And why do we need 2 sites?
Well, the botwcc.co.uk
site will continue to give us a nice fluffy view of the club, with
news
updates
etc, along with fixtures, summary results,
match reports
and league tables.
The ECB site will hold
more detailed results i.e. the scorecards will be recorded here.
(At least they will for the 1st team!!). The site
will then automatically generate statistics for each player, showing
runs/wickets etc, and lots of other useful or otherwise stats.
For an example, the scorecard
from the pre-season friendly against Woodhouse has now been entered.
see it. Then try clicking on peoples names within the scorecard
- this will bring up their individual stats. This should work for
opposition
players too. Clever, eh!
Alternatively, once the
season starts proper, you will be able to search for fixtures/results
on the Senior
League site for all clubs who are registered with the league.
A chance to check out the form of next weeks opposition!
In addition to this, club members can register their details on
the ECB site.
This will allow each registered
member to see details of other registered members eg phone numbers,
email addresses etc. Perfect for sending
encouraging/disparaging emails on a Monday morning depending on
how well you performed at the weekend!
Time permitting, historical results from previous seasons will be
entered. This has already been done for some of the 1st XI fixtures
from last year.
The site may also be used, in the future, for posting some of the
more sensitive documents about the club eg AGM minutes, accounts
etc. These will only be viewable to registered members, and hence
will be hidden from general public view.
Check it out, see what you think, any comments/questions etc feed
them back to me via the site
Cheers
