The Burton on the Wolds
Cricket Club
2006
Annual
Presentation Evening
After a frivolous evening of free flowing alcohol, certain buffet foodstuffs that not a living soul could recognise (as nice as they were, what the hell were they? And where were the puddings?) and the chaotic pandemonium that the presence of a tin of sweeties can induce, let us now look back on an evening of celebration for the efforts and sporting achievements by the players at the club.
And the award goes to...
First XI
Batting - Ross Deabil
Bowling - Ian Lang
Champagne Moment - Barry Moore
Player of the Year - Gary Moore

Thanks to Phil Simmons for this information and well done to all players involved at the youth level. Lets hope there's a few making the step up to the Leicestershire Senior League teams in 2007.
BOTWCC Clubman of the Year 2006
Steve Neal... for his continued commitment to the club as 2nd Team Captain, copious amounts of work at Towles Fields as groundsman and for generally being involved in everything that goes on at the club. Well done he, and lets hope the Neal mentality rubs off on more players throughout the club.
And finally... Special thanks for the evening go to Geraldine and Graham Pratt for their involvement in the organising of this event and for not allowing the band to sing for too long. (ouch). Also thanks go to all contributors to the raffle prizes given out on the night.
2nd Annual BOTW Bonfire Night Extravaganza
After this years Bonnie Night do held, once again at the Pepper Farm in Burton, the magnificent sum of £1000 profit (a curiously round figure don't you think?) was collected and once again the proceeds were split between the Rainbow Hospice and The Cricket Club's Pavilion Fund.
Thanks again to all people involved in the set up, hosting and delivery of the event and, most of all, all those lovely people who bought a ticket and/or turned up at the event. Lets hope we get the same commitment and support for the 3rd Annual Do next year.
Well done all.
